Anything's better than HSM and bleeding Hannah Montana I suppose...

But,ah, Gregory's Girl. That was sweet. Said first boyfriend was remarkably similar to Gregory in physical features (ie skinny with crinkly hair) except he was very very tall. I seem to remember a summer of doing that lying down dancing thing, but perhaps it is my rosy tinted specs!

Mad TwinxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19302868.post-59403106406966530902009-05-18T13:39:00.000+00:002009-05-18T13:39:00.000+00:00Mine has read all of them. I have to fess up that I didn't bother reading the next three cos they're very long and just a tad self indulgent (which is why they work so well for teens (-:), but no 1 did tell me the last one was rude. However, as I don't tend to censor her reading (I know what I was reading at her age probably worse) it would be utterly hypocritical of me to tell her not to read that one. Probably better check it out in case the ten-nearly-eleven year old reads it. Have huge problem at the mo that oldest loves things that seven year old then wants to watch. They all watched Twilight yesterday morning, but it really was tame, so I didn't mind. Seven year old did also say she didn't understand it...(probably just as well!)
While I do see the Twilight appeal, I much prefer Georgia Nicolson who is so funny and honest and REAL that I'm sure most teen girls will relate to her.Jane Henryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17514534117777707886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19302868.post-60835196890794860292009-05-18T12:22:00.000+00:002009-05-18T12:22:00.000+00:00I haven't read the Twilight novels (they don't sou...I haven't read the Twilight novels (they don't sound like my cup of tea), but I noticed two of my younger daughter's classmates (one of whom turned 12 last September) poring over them at a recent field trip. I asked them if the books were scary; they said not particularly, just intense. However, my 17-year-old informs me that the fourth book is very graphic, both in terms of sex and violence. Sigh. I suppose I should take a look, although they're not likely to be on younger daughter's radar for a long while yet...Persephonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15560178981320189795noreply@blogger.com
